Individual therapy provides you with the opportunity to work one-on-one with the therapist to help you solve issues, gain insight, and be motivated to change your situation. It is a collaborative process in which you will feel motivated, strengthened, and empowered to make positive changes in your life.
Family therapy addresses the needs and concerns of your entire family. Each and every family member influences the other, so family therapy allows the therapist to work with your entire family system. Each family member will be given attention, a chance to discuss their personal concerns, and will be given feedback. The relationships within your family will be assessed as well as family values, goals, and tradition. By working with your entire or partial family, the therapist is able to address more concerns within a single session, and the whole family plays an active role in its betterment.
Couple therapy may take the form of premarital counseling, marriage counseling, separation counseling, or co-parenting. You and your spouse will be assisted in positively transforming your relationship. If you are in the process of marrying, you and your partner will be assisted with communication skills, expectations for the marriage and each other, and future goals and plans. If you seeking marriage therapy, you will be helped through the challenges that arise in your marriage, whether it be communication difficulties, child-rearing, goals, financial problems, issues with in-laws, or any other challenges you may face. If you and your spouse are separating, you may utilize counseling to assist both of you with the new transition. If you are divorced and still co-parenting, the two of you will be assisted with effective communication with one another and successfully parenting your child(ren) together.
Group therapy provides you with the opportunity to be with and gain support from individuals dealing with similar issues, life circumstances, or goals. With the therapist as the facilitator, you will be given the opportunity to express yourself and feel connected to others who are dealing with the same difficulties. Understanding, empathy, and support are key components that are the backbone of all groups. Examples of groups are divorce support group, children of divorce group, bereavement group, women’s empowerment, anxiety and depression groups, etc.
